AI Literacy Workshops
Our pilot AI Literacy Workshop programme aims to equip Black women and Black gender-expansive people in the UK with greater knowledge and confidence about AI and automated decision-making (ADM) use in public services. Our free workshops aim to help build understanding of how these AI and ADM systems may be being used.
Black women and Black gender-expansive people are disproportionately represented in the use of public services and welfare - which means they will be disproportionately affected by bias or discrimination in these systems.
Unfortunately, the application of AI and ADM in our public services is opaque and hidden from public view. This makes it difficult for the average person to identify whether an AI or ADM system is being used to make a decision affecting their life.
It is an essential tool of self-defence against discriminatory institutions to understand how ADM and AI is being used in our public services.
